Axis Furniture is a series of aesthetic design statements integrating strong elemental forms, sensual curving lines, nuanced proportions and exclusive textured surfaces.  The inspiration for each piece is derived from a diverse range of sources such as architecture, jewelry or objects found in nature.  Each is reinterpreted to create a classic, timeless design.

This collection reflects the vision and expertise of Mark Maynard, founder and designer for AXIS Furniture.  Drawing on a broad range of experience beginning with residential and hospitality design, Mark progressed on to high-end showroom furniture sales.  There he expanded his talents by creating custom furniture designs for a growing clientele.  Soon after, AXIS Furniture was established allowing for his fullest expression.

The collection is hand made locally by experienced craftsmen in the Los Angeles area using select hardwoods and veneers.  Combed Wood surfaces incorporated into the Kenya Series are created using specially designed tooling.  Finishes are applied in multiple stages and result in surfaces of depth and complexity, another hallmark of the line.  The final stage utilizes low VOC lacquer for its subtle luster and minimal environmental impact.  

These unique designs have been selected for use in both residential and hospitality applications worldwide.
